3TWI Fatima Al Qadiri

Kuwaiti femme slang for a “dirty old man” or, literally, “male alley cat”, 3TWI sees Fatima Al Qadiri explore a familiar comic figure from West Asian culture. Across four club tracks, she draws on folk dance traditions alongside collaborators Bobo Secret, Lama3an and Gumar. Sung and spoken in Kuwaiti and Classical Arabic and the 3eemi Farsi dialect, the EP mixes improvised, suggestive lyrics with yearning vocals while exploring gender, performance and the region’s musical traditions through a coy queer lens.
